Jasień (Germ. Gassen) – railway station

PFirst railway through Jasień was started on the 1st September 1846 and connected Berlin with Wrocław. The building of the station is from 1875. The station comprised a lounge with bar, ticket counter, offices and of course luggage storage. By the station there was a private siding with carriage scales. The railway nod in Jasień was partly destroyed in 1945. Gradually the line running through Jasień was more and more rarely used. The last passenger train run through the station on May 16th 1995 – course Żagań – Lubsko. Since 2005 Jasień is a maintenance-free hold.
Due to the fact the station is unused it falls into ruin. The rails were overgrown by plants, the warehouses were destroyed and the station building was transformed to private apartments.
